Speech/Language Therapy
provides comprehensive speech/language assessments and therapy
for children by ASHA certified Speech/Language Pathologists.
Children whose speech/language and/or cognitive skills have
been affected due to a neurologic diagnosis may receive services
here. Problems in the following areas related to a child's
neurological diagnosis may be addressed:
- receptive and/or expressive language
- articulation
- fluency
- oral motor abilities
- swallowing
- certain cognitive problems
Individual therapy plans are devised and therapy sessions
are tailored to meet each child’s specific needs and
to enhance each child’s ability to communicate.
Music Therapy
for children consists of individual and group interactive
music intervention designed to assist and motivate children
to work on non-musical therapeutic goals. This therapy can
be effective in addressing problems with attention, communication,
learning, motor skills, and social interaction.
Intervention with schools,
families, and health care providers about return-to-school

with school personnel, attend student staffings, and develop

Occupational Therapy
utilizes functional tasks of childhood (play) to treat
developmental, behavioral, social, and cognitive needs of
children (preschool and up). Skill areas addressed include
age appropriate self-care skills, encouraging positive self
concepts, regulation of the arousal levels necessary for attending
in a variety of settings, sensory discriminations and processing,
fine and gross motor skills, social interaction, and cognitive
functioning. Intervention with families is an integral part
of the therapy process as is communication with other providers.
| Neuropsychological Testing |
Neuropsychological Testing
clarifies basic cognitive strengths and weaknesses, including
processing speed, attention, learning and memory, higher level
thinking, and problem solving. This information can be used
to help develop appropriate strategies for academic and personal
success. This assessment is applicable for ages 5 and up.
Physical Therapy
is available to address the needs of children from birth and
up. Early intervention services are available for infants
and toddlers with developmental disabilities and delay. Neurorehabilitation
services are provided for children with acquired brain injuries
or other neurological disorders. Services include facilitation
of motor development, vesicular function, balance and coordination,
ambulation, and adaptive needs in order to allow the child
and family to function in their everyday routines and activities.
Services are provided in the clinical setting, as well as
the home and community, to meet the goals of the child and
their family.

Neurology services
are available with Dr. Gerald C. McIntosh if there is no other
physician for the child. We will work closely with the child’s
other health care providers. Management of spasticity, medications,
and other related needs is available.
- A physician order is required; our physician is available

- Case review is available to help determine appropriateness
of referral.
- We accept most insurance plans, including Medicare and
Medicaid. Our billing office will be able to check specific
